How to install our software through Codeweaver's Crossover Mac
We have built a quick guide to lead you through the installation of our downloadable software. Your feedback would be welcome!
Windows Vista
If your program displays "Not Responding" and you are using Windows Vista, you may need
to perform a workaround in order to continue.
For programs run from a CD-ROM:
- Hold the Windows key and press "E" once to open the Windows Explorer
- In the left pane, click on the icon of the drive that holds the software (This shows the contents in the right pane)
- In the right pane, find the file called "Start"
- Right click that file's icon and click on Properties
- Click the Compatibility tab
- Check the box for "Run program in compatibitlity mode"
- Select "Windows 98/Windows Me" in the drop-down box
- Click OK all the way out and then start the program
For programs installed in your Start menu:
If you have Vista Service Pack 3:
- Hold the Windows key and press "E" once to open the Windows Explorer
- In the left pane click on the icon of the drive that holds the software, usually C:
- In the right pane double click on "Program Files" or "Program Files (x86)," depending on where you installed the software
- Double click on the program folder, e.g. "Business Math and Statistics," then locate the file "start.exe"
- Perform the compatibility fix on this file by right clicking it, selecting the compatibility tab, checking the box and choosing Windows 98/Me
- Double click this file to start the program--SP3 breaks the Start menu links
- Right click this file and select Send to..., then Desktop to create a shortcut directly to the program
If you have a version before Vista Service Pack 3:
- Click Start and navigate to the Ivy Software folder
- Right click the link to the program and click on Properties
- Click the Compatibility tab
- Check the box for "Run program in compatibility mode"
- Select "Windows 98/Windows Me" in the drop-down box
- Click OK all the way out and then start the program
Cannot Install Software
If you get an error during installation and you are at a lab or work machine, you may
need to obtain administrator rights to install the software. We can also supply you with
instruction to run it from a flash drive or other media. Please contact us for details.
I can't hear any sound during the voice/video intros.
To troubleshoot sound problems, follow theses steps:
- Make sure your computer can play .wav files.
You can find one by clicking Start/Find/Files or Folders
then type in *.wav and press find.
- Check sound volumes. Click
Start/Programs/Accesories/Entertainment and select Volume
Control. The leftmost bar is the master volume control;
ensure it is above half way. Wave balance should be next
to the right; ensure that is above half as well.
- Check speaker connections. See that the speakers are
firmly plugged into the correct port on your sound card
and that the speakers are powered and turned on if
necessary.
The text is too large to fit in the window.
Your computer is probably setup to display larger than normal fonts.
You can change this in the Control Panel, under the Display icon.
You must click the Settings tab, then click the Advanced button
at the bottom of the window.
Change the Font Size to Small Fonts, which is default in Windows.
